Rooterville offered me a second chance.

    Hi there,

My name is Stella, that’s me in the picture. I’m writing you today to ask for your help.

Not just for me, but for all the animals that live with me, over 300 so far, and all the animals that will be coming to live with me. And there are plenty of them.

We need your help for food, medicine, vet bills, and all kinds of things needed to keep this place going. You see, I live in a very special place. It’s a sanctuary called Rooterville and all the animals that live here have been rescued. We’ve all been given a second chance at life!

Take me for example. I was in a factory farm. I lived in a stall about as big as me. I had many, many babies, but they were all taken away from me. That made me very sad!

Then one day I was jammed into a truck with dozens of other pigs. I wasn’t sure where we were going but I had a bad feeling about it. I was standing there wondering where we might be headed when all of a sudden I fell out of the truck. And BAM! I hit the road and did that ever hurt! I tried to move, but I couldn’t so I just lay there on the side of the road. Honestly, I was hurting so much I didn’t know if I would ever move again.

I did manage to get up and headed for some woods beside the road. I just wanted to get to a safer place and rest. I think I slept for a day.

When I woke, I walked through the woods and stumbled onto someone’s driveway. I was so hungry and thirsty I thought I was going to die. But these nice people gave me some food and water and I’m sure they saved my life.

I was eventually taken to Rooterville and it was so nice. The people looked after my injuries, which were pretty bad. It happened 7 years ago and I still can’t feel half of my face.

My story is just one of many here at Rooterville. All of us are so thankful for our lives here. And we owe it all to caring people like you. People who help us because they can’t stand by and see animals suffer.

Without your support, I don’t know what would happen to us. If you can help today with a gift of $15 or $25 or even more, it would be greatly appreciated by all of us.

If you are unable to help us with a donation, you can still help us, and yourself, by not eating cows or pigs or chickens or turkeys… especially from factory farms.

It’s simple. When you stop eating animals two things will happen…

    1. You will become healthier.

    2. You will help reduce demand for meat and the slaughter of billions of animals will stop. You can’t imagine the suffering of the animals. I was there. I know. But because I don’t want to upset you, I won’t tell you about the horrible conditions I lived in.

Your financial support today will help Rooterville save more animals. It will also help get this message out to more and more people. Factory farming makes animals suffer and it also harms the environment, worse than just about anything.

You don’t have to be a vegan to support Rooterville. I know people who visit me here and give us donations, but they still eat meat. I wish they would stop, but I still appreciate their support.

I hope you will decide to help. Please come and visit us at Rooterville.

    Thanks for your help,

    Stella the Farm Pig

P.S. Hi! My name is Elaine West and I founded Rooterville in 2004. We have one goal – to reduce animal suffering. If you’re a vegan, you’re helping. If you’re not a vegan and you’d like to help; the easiest thing for you to do is change your diet. And as Stella said, if you still want to eat meat, we will still appreciate your financial support, because we need all the help we can get. Thank you.
